Tension was high over the weekend as Canadian lottery ticket holders waited to see whether the Lotto Max would hit.

However, as the Friday's draw was held, it became clear that Canadians will simply need to wait another week to see who would become $50 million richer.

Because the Lotto Max has reached its top level (it cannot go over $50 million), the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. adds Maxmillions to allow players the opportunity to win a cool one million bucks, over and above the lottery.

This is the third time that the Lotto Max has reached the top level since it was launched in Canada in September.

The next Lotto Max draw will be held on Friday June 11th, where all eyes will be on the draw once more to see who will walk away with $50 million.

In addition, the lottery corporation will add no less than 20 Maxmillions.

One of the five Maxmillion prizes sold in Atlantic Canada this week paid out.

A spokeswoman for the OLGC, Sarah Kiriliuk, said that the sale of tickets for the lottery was up a staggering 84% compared to the previous week.

All in all, next week's lottery has the possibility to see twenty one Canadians become instant millionaires literally overnight.
