Calvin Ayre, Canadian gambling entrepreneur extraordinary and founder of the Bodog Brand, is keen to show what he can do with his latest purchase.

The domain name of Slots.com recently came up for sale at Snapgames.com, and Ayre - who learned about it from an SEO expert - found himself in the surrealist position of bidding for Slots.com off a bar stool at L'Atelier restaurant in London.

Ayre instantly recognized the huge potential there has to be had through owning the Slots.com domain name.

At present, the domain only generates 15,000 visitors a day, but the sky is the limit when such a site is taken over by an innovative and creative team such as Bodog.

The simple term 'slots' is typed into the Google search engine 6 million times every month.

BodogBrand.com paid $5.5 million for the domain name, which is considered a bargain when one takes into consideration the $10 million recently paid for Poker.com and the $5.5 million paid for Casino.com over 7 year ago.

"After Casino.com, we feel that Slots.com is the best gaming domain in the world," said Ayre. "Bigger even that Poker.com because there are no strong brands in this space and slots are far more universal than poker. Just look at the amount of space a casino devotes to slots over poker, added to which it's simple to spell and easy to remember."

"Slots.com will work for us on a number of levels, not least in generating global traffic to our Bodog branded properties, but also to form a number of other targeted websites including one that will be created by and for the female gambler," added Ayre.
