New England Patriots at St. Louis Rams

The New England Patriots lead the AFC East by a half game over the Miami Dolphins after an overtime win against the New York Jets last week. New England now sits at 4-3, Miami is 3-3, and the Jets and Buffalo Bills are 3-4.

The Rams are in last place in the NFC West at 3-4, but only trail division leading San Francisco 49ers by two games. The 49ers lead the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks by one game. The 49ers and Cardinals meet on Monday Night Football in Arizona.

The Patriots have had a maddening tendency to play close games, even with teams they should be blowing out. The Rams aren't necessarily a team they should blow out. St. Louis has one of the league's best defenses. Bottom line is, look for a tight game.

Bodog has the Rams at +7 -105 or +260. The Patriots are -7-115 or -320. Over/under on the game is 47.

The game is being played at Wembley Stadium in London which likely means a bit of jet lag, so seven points is way too many. We like the Rams +7.

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles

The Atlanta Falcons are the NFL's only remaining undefeated team. However, most of their games have been close. One could even say the Falcons have been lucky a few times. The Falcons have a comfortable lead in the NFC South as they are four games up in the loss column on the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now might be a good time for the Falcons to get upset.

The Eagles are in a tight NFC East race at 3-3. They are one game down in the loss column to the first place New York Giants at 5-2. They are tied for second place with the Dallas Cowboys at 3-3. The Giants play the Cowboys on Sunday, so a Cowboy win and an Eagles win would really tighten things up in the East. The Eagles have also showed the ability to pull a close game out this season.

Bodog has the Falcons at +3 -120. The Eagles are -3 +100. We like the Falcons at +3 since we think this game will be tight.

San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals

First place in the NFC West is at stake when the well rested San Francisco 49ers travel to face the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football.

The 49ers are coming off a win against the Seattle Seahawks a week ago Thursday. The Seahawks game was a tight defensive battle with the Niners winning 13-6. The win put the 49ers a game up on the Seahawks and Cardinals and two ahead of the Rams.

The Cardinals started the season 4-0 but have now lost three in a row. But don't count the Cardinals out. They seem to have a knack of playing to the level of their opponents. They won a game at New England when they were an 8.5 point underdog.

Bodog has the 49ers -7 or -300. The Cardinals are +7 or +250. Over/under on the game is 38. We like the Cardinals +7 at home.

Other interesting games in Week Eight include:

Washington Redskins at Pittsburgh Steelers

Redskins are +4.5 or +180. Steelers are -4.5 or -220. We like the Redskins +4.5.

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

Seahawks are +1 +105. Lions are -1 -125. We like the Seahawks +1 in an upset.

San Diego Chargers at Cleveland Browns

Chargers are -3 -105. Browns are +3 -115. We like the Browns +3 at home in this one.
