NFL Week 4 Titans vs Texans Preview
On Sunday (Sep 30), betting fans can look forward to a number of exciting NFL Week 4 matchups, including the clash between AFC South rivals the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
While they are in the same division, these two teams could not have gotten off to a more different start to the 2012-13 NFL Season. Where the Texans have won all three of their games so far to put them on top in their division, the Titans have chalked up two losses and one win, putting them last in the division, behind the Chiefs and the Broncos.
Though it may not seem like such a mean feat to win three straight games, the Texans, the Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals are the only three teams left this season that remain undefeated. And judging by the way Houston has played so far, don't be surprised if they stave off their first loss for some time still.
Since the start of the season, the Texans have been firing on all cylinders both offensively and defensively. So much so that already many NFL experts are calling the team from Texas one of the best if not the best team in the AFC right now, and one that might just land up in Super Bowl XLVII if they stay healthy and focused.
Texans have been Smoking Hot so Far this Season
Of course, it is still far too early in the season to predict what will happen in the next few games, never mind what will happen months down the line. But one thing is for sure, which is that right now the Texans are smoking hot. One of reasons is the team's defensive end, J.J. Watt, who is proving to be the "sackmeister of the season," knocking down rival quarterbacks and rushers like bowling pins. Offensively, Texans' quarterback Matt Schaub, wide receiver Andre Johnson and running back Arian Foster have been working together like a well-oiled and co-ordinated machine.
So all things considered, the Texans should have no problem taking down the Titans on Sunday, which is why the home team have been posted as the -13 point favorites at most online sports betting sites, Bodog included.
The Titans managed to redeem their rough start to the season slightly by beating the Detroit Lines in overtime last time out, to win their first game of the season. But despite that victory, they do not look like they'll be much of a threat this season, never mind make it to the playoffs.
Tennessee's Weaknesses Include RB Chris Johnson
Tennessee's weaknesses are many, and include running back Chris Johnson, whose woes from last season seem to have carried over to this season. It has not been lost on NFL betting fans that in the first two games of the season, Johnson only managed to rack up a paltry 21 yards on 19 rushing attempts. So he'll really need to pull up his socks if the Titans have any chance of progressing further than last place in their division this season.
For our NFL betting buck, the Texans will crush the Titans on Sunday. Free Pick: The Houston Texans.
