For the first time in Loto Quebec's history, customers will be able to purchase their Loto Quebec products online.

Quebec's official lottery corporation said that the changes will be implemented on Monday, August 27th, and players will be able to buy Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Quebec 49, Banco and Extra products over the internet through the lotoquebec.com/online site.

Online lottery products are already available through the Atlantic Lotteries Corporation (ALC) and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and Loto Quebec feels that in order to keep up with competition from neighboring provinces, it will need to adapt its products to the internet.

According to a press release by Loto Quebec, "consumers who buy lottery products online using their computer, smartphone or tablet computer will notice the advantages and user friendliness of Loto Quebec's site."

Loto Quebec Listened to Partners and Retailers

Before Loto Quebec launched its online services, it consulted with business partners and retailers to involve them in the process and listen to their concerns.

"Following discussions and meetings over the past months, we were happy to note that the public corporation took our concerns into account," said the General Manager of the Association des Marchands Depanneurs et Epiciers du Quebec, Yves Servais. "The AMDEQ is therefore pleased to see that Loto Quebec has included retailers in the online sale project of certain lottery products. Loto Quebec recognizes the importance of retailers in the sale of lottery products in Quebec," he said.

How to Purchase Online Loto Quebec Products

To purchase Loto Quebec online lottery products, players need to open an account at the Loto Quebec site - a process which takes only a few minutes.

Loto Quebec has implemented a set of touch verification and prevention measures which will ensure that no underage players can access the site and that all winnings are kept safe and secure at all times.

Winnings up to $50K will be deposited into the member's account, and anything beyond this sum will be handed to the winner personally through Loto Quebec offices.

"Online lottery purchasing is a logical follow up to Mise-o-jeu sports betting on the internet, which has been available since March 2012," read the press release. "In addition, last May, Loto Quebec launched a new Lotteries for iPhone and Android mobile application that provides lottery draw results and Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max jackpot notifications."
