With just one more day to buy tickets for the Saturday Lotto 6/49 draw, Canadian lottery authorities are wondering when they'll be contacted by the winner of last week's $25 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

Because the winning ticket was purchased in Calgary, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation believes the player will likely be a Calgarian or perhaps a visitor passing through the city. As such, it is urging the lucky $25 million Lotto 6/49 ticketholder to come forward and claim his or her windfall.

The winners may be aware of their huge win and have opted to lie low for the moment while they consider how to proceed. Or they may be totally unaware they became instant millionaires nearly 25 times over from last Saturday's Lotto 6/49 draw.

However, when the winner does step forward to claim the prize, it could take a few months before the money is transferred to them because of all the paperwork that needs to be processed. Players have one year from the date of the draw in which to claim their winnings, or they forfeit their prize.

The winning numbers from Saturday's Lotto 6/49 were: 9 - 11 - 31 - 34 - 48 - 49

The odds of winning Lotto 6/49 are around one in thirteen million, a fact that doesn't seem to deter Canadian lottery fans who purchase tickets for the draws, week after week.

Millions Up for Grabs in Canadian Lotteries this Week

This Saturday (January 28th), an estimated $3,500,000 jackpot is up for grabs in the Lotto 6/49 draw.

Each Lotto 6/49 ticket costs just $2 and players need to choose six numbers for one through to 49 on up to 10 boards. Six numbers, as well as a bonus number, are drawn and the objective is to match the numbers drawn in order to win.

An alternative is to ask for a Quick Pick where the lottery terminal will randomly select the player's numbers. It is also possible to add an ENCORE to the game for an additional $1.

Players who match six out of the six numbers win 80.5% of the pools fund, while those who match five out of six plus a bonus, with 5.75% of the pools fund.

The odds of matching four of the six balls in a Lotto 6/49 draw are one in 1,033, while the odds of matching three of the six and winning a $10 prize are one in 56.

Lotto 6/49 draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday, and tickets are sold until 9 pm. (ET) on the day of the draw.
