Players are rushing to buy their Lotto 649 tickets this week, following the news that a recent Lotto 649 jackpot payout went to an immigrant labourer from Belarus, who pocketed an incredible $11.8 million.

And this week's Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's Lotto 649 draw could see a lucky player take home an estimated $3,500,000. The last Lotto 649 draw was held on December 7th, with winning numbers 06-08-24-27-31-41 and a bonus 48.

According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp, news of labourer Alexander Berkovich's whopping windfall has helped increase Lotto 649 ticket sales figures this week, as well as sales of other Canadian lottery games.

Alexander Berkovich's winning ticket was drawn on November 26th during a Lotto 649 draw, and the 27-year-old manual worker learned the happy news from his brother, who checked the tickets on a lottery self scanner.

The recent immigrant from Belarus said that he was so shocked by the news that he had to check the numbers online at least three times before he was convinced that he had just won a life-changing amount of money.

Berkovich, who lives in Maple, Ontario, said that he will definitely be quitting his job, but he hasn't decided what he is going to do with all the money just yet. "I've thought about going back to school but I have not planned yet for any big purchases," he said.

The Belarus native claimed his prize with his mother and brother at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp prize center in Toronto this week, and said that it would "nice not to have to think about money all the time."

Berkovich said that he regularly likes to play Lotto 649 and Lotto Max, usually purchasing a couple of tickets every Friday.

Lotto 649 Tickets Cost as Little as $2 Each

Lotto 649 costs just $2 to play and draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday. The jackpot of this lottery grows exponentially until it is won, which was more than demonstrated by Alexander Berkovich's recent windfall.

The Lotto 649 requires that players match all six of the drawn numbers in order to win the jackpot. Interestingly, the odds of pulling this off are roughly 1 in 14,000,00, so Berkovich really did have Lady Luck by his side that day.

There is a 1 in 32.3 chance of winning any prize in a weekly draw.

Players who purchase a Lotto 649 ticket in Canada should always sign it as soon as possible for added protection, and complete the information on the back of the ticket.

Lotto 649 game tickets expire twelve months after the draw date, and so it is always wise to check the lottery results as soon as possible.
