$15 Million Lottery Prize Won by Nursing Home Workers
A group of nursing home workers have managed to hit the big prize on the Lotto Max draw that took place on Friday.
According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp, the winners are employees of a long term care facility run by the City of Toronto.
Sarah Kiriliuk, speaking for the lottery corp, said it was still being determined how many employees would share the $15 million prize pool after their chosen numbers were hit by the Lotto Max jackpot.
Although the spokeswoman did not identify the winners, an employee at the Seven Oaks nursing home said that they comprised an entire floor of employees. Nobody at the nursing home would comment on the win.
$21.4 Lottery Prize Remains Unclaimed
In the meantime, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. reminded lottery players to check their tickets to see if they were perhaps the winner of $21.4 million prize from a Lotto Max draw that took place on July 8th.
According to the lottery, two weeks have passed since the draw and nobody has stepped forward yet to claim the prize. It could be that someone is walking around out there, totally oblivious to the fact that his or her life has changed incredibly, or it just may well be that the winner is buying time to see how to handle this newfound wealth.
While Kiriliuk said that the winner has up to a year to claim the money, she also added that she hoped that the winner wouldn't take that long to step forward.
There have been some great winners this past month. A couple of retired teachers from Niagara Falls won $41.3 million earlier this month on a Lotto 6-49 ticket, while Richmond Hill resident, Vivian Leung won $22.6 million in a June Lotto Max draw.
