The Board of Directors of HeadsUp Entertainment International have identified the need to create a marketing team that will be able to work hard in order to take advantage of the changing market opportunities that have developed in Canada's gaming and poker market.

As such, the group established the wholly owned subsidiary, The Canadian Poker Tour in order to consolidate the Canadian operations of HeadsUp's poker business.

Dan Forigo has been installed as the new President of the CPT brand, and his responsibilities will include the distribution of the magazine and tournament model, as well as a new tournament series that will be televised and broadcast in Canada.

Speaking about the new management team picked to lead the CPT brand, Forigo said: "We have a tremendous amount of work to do very quickly.  The brand has a solid foundation but it is now time to furnish the mansion within."

HeadsUp Entertainment recently signed a sponsorship deal with Poker Tax Recovery and is keen to enter into agreements with other retail groups.

Growth Opportunities

HeadsUp Entertainment plans to advance into the US gaming market, and the need for a highly focused management team has never been more urgent.

Since the US authorities shut down a number of major online poker sites, more poker players than ever are seeking out quality poker tournaments in North America, and the Canadian Poker Tour is set to provide a solution to these demands.

HeadsUp Entertainment believes that revenues from its Canadian operations will triple this year and growth will continue next year as well.

HeadsUp describes itself as a "global media and entertainment company engaged in the creation of branded entertainment through the development, production and marketing of televised programming based on poker and other entertainment themes."
