HeadsUp Entertainment Shows Good Revenues
HeadsUp Entertainment International, the Canadian facing gaming group, has posted good revenues for the July to September time frame.
The group, which operates the Canadian Poker Tour, the Canadian Poker Player Magazine and the Canadian Poker Player Television Network, said that revenues for that period grew to $324,259.
According to the group, this was the largest amount posted in a fiscal quarter since HeadsUp Entertainment was created.
The company credits this significant growth in revenue to a number of factors, the most important being an enhanced business model for poker events that it runs.
Other factors that influenced revenues were increased sponsorship sales and higher than expected Canadian Poker Tour membership and renewal rates.
Since HeadsUp Entertainment launched, it has been promoting the Canadian poker market from within.
The 2010 Canadian Open Poker Championships was the highlight of these efforts and cemented HeadsUp Entertainment's importance on the scene due to its success.
It also indicated a turning point for the group in terms of profitability.
Growth is also predicted in other areas, including television production, sponsorship incentives and a national casino marketing program.
HeadsUp Entertainment plans to run 11 poker tournaments based on the Canadian Open Championships model in the coming year and has renewed the contract for a 2011 Canadian Open.
A new casino affiliate package is also being marketed to Canadian poker rooms, and the group also hopes to tap into the new market of government endorsed online poker rooms.
