Tomorrow (Thursday, December 2) at Woodbine Racecourse in Toronto, Canada, 5-year-old Perfect Bullet is favored to win a $80,000-$75,000 allowance optional claiming race over 1 1/16 miles.

Entered by trainer Sean Smullen, the Kentucky-bred horse will contest the third-level allowance against seven other 3-year-olds and up that have never won three races other than maiden, claiming or restricted allowance.

After finishing sixth in the Dominion Day Stakes (Gr 1) on July 1 last year, Perfect Bullet's connections gave him a lengthy 16-month layoff. Upon his return, he also finished sixth in a prep race for the Autumn Stakes (Gr 2).

And in last month's Autumn Stakes over 1 1/6 miles on Polytrack, Perfect Bullet upped his game by finishing third behind Stunning Stag. In that race he started off slowly, but then went wide and rallied to snatch third.

As a result of this performance, oddsmakers have laid him as the 2/1 favorite alongside his stablemate Sligovitz, an Ontario-bred 5-year-old horse best remembered for finishing second in the 2008 Breeders' Cup Stakes.

Sligovitz bolted to the outside down the straight and looked set for victory before he was defeated by Marlang. He has since failed to shine, although he did finish fourth in September's Turfway Park Fall Championship.

Other runners include D's Wando, who is stretching out to 1 1/16 miles, Ice Bear who is winless in eight starts, So Elite who finished ninth in the Labeeb, and turf specialist Jimmy Simms, who makes his synthetic debut.

Here is the complete field and odds for Thursday's $80,000-$75,000 allowance optional claiming:
