Maple Casino Donates 50,000 Yen to Japanese Earthquake Victims
Apart from the world's biggest online gambling fan, I am also the world's biggest fan of disaster movies, from such 70s classics as The Poseidon Adventure and Towering Inferno, to more recent offerings such as 2012 (best movie of the century) and Battle: Los Angeles (a little cheesy but good), probably because I'm a sucker for multi-million dollar Hollywood special effects.
But I gotta tell you that the video news feeds from the recent Japanese earthquake/tsunami put anything Hollywood could come up with to shame and more, to the degree that I almost felt ill watching all the destruction unfold in a land so far away from me.
In fact, I was so moved from the safety and security of my plush home here in Toronto, Canada, that - uncharacteristically for me - I decided to play my part in trying to help those people and areas affected in Japan get back on their feet as quickly as possible. I have never and do not now even consider myself a 'do-gooder,' but after what I saw on TV, I thought how could I not help.
