After re-reading the heading I wrote for this exciting blog I am about to spend the next 45 minutes on, it occurred to me that it kind of suggests that Bodog is the only online gambling destination in the world if not the universe where blackjack is played with actual human hands as opposed to hands made up of regular 52-card decks. Or am I just being ridonkulous?

Anyhoo, if you've never heard of Bodog, you need to down a twelve pack of Red Bull and wake up, because Bodog is a very big and successful online gambling operation that was founded right here in Canada. (USA eat your heart out). It was launched in 1994 by one clever dude and entrepreneur called Calvin Ayre, who was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.

Under his supervision, Ayre built Bodog into powerhouse of an online gambling firm, one boasting an online casino, poker room, sportsbook and even a horse race betting site. In the process, Ayre turned himself into a bona fide billionaire and something of a playboy. He retired as CEO of Bodog in April 2008, but still pursues other Bodog brand related interests.

Anyhoo, today Bodog is going great guns with tens of thousands of players from all over the world. Particularly popular is Bodog's online casino, which boasts a host of top quality games including blackjack, which caters for beginners, average players and smoking hot experts (like yours truly). And on Friday, March 4, Bodog dealt its one billionth blackjack hand.

The lucky player that got dealt the historic one billionth blackjack hand was Michael H., who not only won himself one of 21 cool $1,000 cash prizes, but gets to choose his own Billionaire's Experience of either a front row seat on a luxury yacht moored in Monte Carlo harbor to watch the 2011 Monaco Grand Prix, or an exotic holiday on a private island in Fiji.

Unfortunately because I am not Michael H., I guess I'll have to wait and try to be dealt the two billionth hand at Bodog.
