BCLC Sponsor of 2015 Canada Winter Games
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has been named as an official sponsor of the 2015 Canada Winter Games. The BCLC sponsorship of the 2015 Canada Winter Games is the most noteworthy sponsorship that the BCLC has made since the Olympics.
BCLC Sponsors Live Entertainment at Canada Winter Games
The announcement regarding the BCLC sponsorship of the Canada Winter Games was announced at the end of last week. There were no actual terms of the deal disclosed to the public at that time, however, it is clear that the BCLC will be the live entertainment sponsor while the games are on. BCLC will host live performances on the main stage every night of the games.
Michael Graydon, the Chief Executive Officer of the BCLC said: "I think supporting the main stage is a great opportunity, it aligns with the fact we are in the entertainment business, and this is about entertainment, so it's a terrific fit in regards to sponsorship."
The sponsorship discussions were smooth and took little time since the 2015 Canada Winter Games and the previous Vancouver Olympics are being run by many of the same organisers.
Having many of the same people involved in the planning of these two major sporting events has reduced, both which have received some kind of sponsorship from the BCLC, has reduced the time it took to negotiate the terms of the partnership.
Both sides had already learned some practical lessons from the 2010 partnership experience, and could bring that experience with them to the table.
Treasure Cove Casino Also Sponsors Winter Games
The Treasure Cove Casino and Hotel is also sponsoring the 2015 Canada Winter Games, and will act as a Community Partner. Treasure Cove will be sponsoring part of the entertainment offered during the time of the games. It will complement BCLC's sponsorship, and cover other aspects of the entertainment offered during the games.
Matt Major, an official from Treasure Cove Casino and Hotel, said: "Like everyone in the community, we look forward to this incredible event and for our chance to provide exceptional entertainment experiences for everyone to enjoy."
The Canada Winter Games Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Ballantyne, further noted: "So every night and day we're going to have family entertainment, we're going to have a lot of things for a lot of different people, showcasing people from British Columbia and BC to the rest of the nation."
