In an exciting move, Canadian firm DTI Software and 888.com have decided to join their individual expertise to create a joint venture offering a casino in the air as part of the in-flight entertainment that will be offered on international airlines.

DTI, which is operated out of Montreal, Quebec, has been offering in-flight entertainment to international airlines for over twelve years. Airlines that use the DTI in-flight entertainment include British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Air France, American Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, and a large number of other airlines.

888 and DTIs In-Flight Gaming Partnership

The joint venture will have DTI Software and 888.com offering some of the most popular online casino games, such as slots, blackjack, roulette, and more. Passengers will be able to choose between real money games and games that are for free.

Nicolas Belanger, the Chief Executive Officer of DTI Software, said: "We took our time to make sure we would partner with the most recognised name and company in its field. The combination of 888.com expertise and know-how in online casino management, and DTI Software's world leading expertise in non-traditional operating platforms and IFE content ensures a winning premise for great products that will soon be available to the in-flight entertainment industry."

At this time, the games will be offered on selected airlines only, with this choice being affected by the flight routes, and the regulatory conditions that are relevant to the airline and its location. While DTI has already offered casual gaming on flights, this is the first time for DTI to offer in-flight casino games.

Said Gigi Levy, 888.com's Chief Executive Officer,"This venture represents a significant addition to our innovative 'every game; everywhere' offering, alongside our Internet and mobile proposition, that clearly attracts entertainment consumers in more places every day."

Mr. Levy further noted that by forming a partnership with a company such as DTI, "the clear in-flight entertainment market leader, we are redefining interactive gaming in flights and expanding even further our global reach."

The Canadian DTI Software company is wholly owned by Advanced Inflight Alliance AG. The company has been offering a varied range of in-flight entertainment, including offering games from casual gaming brands since 1995.

Over the years, passengers aboard a large number of airlines can use a far more personalised system, ranging from entertainment choices to in-flight shopping, and meal selection. The Montreal-based company owns more than 90% of the in-flight games market worldwide.
