Amaya Signs Exclusive Software Deal with SHFL
A new deal has been signed between the Canadian gambling company, Amaya Gaming Group, and the Las Vegas based SHFL Entertainment.
The terms of the contract will have SHFL, owner of the Shuffle Master brand, pay Amaya up to $10 million for exclusive rights to distribute its Ongame software platform in the United States.
The decade-long deal will give SHFL the one thing it needs to complete its phenomenal games and service portfolio - an up-and-running online poker platform.
The group already boasts over 3,000 corporate customers around the world, and has multiple experience dealing with the demands of governments and regulatory jurisdictions on the continents it operates off.
The addition of the Ongame software platform will be a significant addition to SHFL's already vast portfolio.
Terms of SHFL - Amaya Agreement
According to the terms of the SHFL Amaya software deal, the Vegas group will pay an initial $2 million to Amaya Gaming in return for the rights to offer its B2B customers Amaya's Gaming Platform (AGP) and the Ongame Poker Platform.
The games will be free-to-play in a social casino setting, and will put SHFL at the fore of the market as the US market becomes poised for a leap into real money online gambling options.
Both companies will share revenue equally and split direct US operational expenses (eg. hosting, hardware and licensing).
When real money online poker becomes legalized in the United States on a federal level and/or in California on a state level, Amaya will be paid up to a further $8 million on a prorated, population based basis.
