$50 Million Jackpot in Lotto Max Draw
Tension is mounting ahead of tonight's Lotto Max draw, with one of the biggest prizes seen in the lottery's kitty up for grabs of a whopping $50 million.
Tonight lottery fans across Canada stand the chance of winning not only the $50 million estimated jackpot, but 20 MaxMillions jackpots thanks to a number of rollovers from previous draws.
Nobody won the $50 million on June 15th, which also included six MaxMillions. The winning numbers in last week's draw were: 8 - 11 - 20 - 28 - 36 - 43 - 47 and bonus number 18.
This week, June 22nd, therefore sees an even bigger prize pool for the Lotto Max draw. The $50 million Lotto Max jackpot can be won for just $5 per play for three sets of numbers.
All players need to do is choose seven numbers from 1 through to 49, or choose a Quick Pick. Draws for Lotto Max are held every Friday, with the last tickets sold at 9 pm Eastern Time on draw nights.
What are MaxMillions?
Those who are unfamiliar with the Lotto Max lottery, may not know what MaxMillions are.
As the amount of the 7/7 prize category for the Lotto Max main draw is capped at $50 million, each time the draw exceeds this amount, each $1 million in excess is offered as a separate $1 million MaxMillions prize. A separate draw is held for each MaxMillions jackpot.
For each draw, seven numbers are drawn from numbers 1 through to 49, and players must match all seven numbers. Should there be more than one winner, the prize is shared among all the winners.
Any amount which is not won in a MaxMillions draw is added to the 7/7 prize category of the next draw.
OLG Offers Lotto Max Info
There may not be any way of improving your chances of winning the Lotto Max (except buying a lottery ticket!), but Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has a couple of links which offer players information about winning numbers.
For example, OLG archives are able to trace the most popular winning combinations for many of its lotteries, including Lotto Max, Lotto 649 and more.
The site also helps players examine whether their numbers have ever won, by simply entering their favorite numbers (except for Poker Lotto) in the necessary fields and pressing Go.
