A new strategy was unveiled at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara this week, that will aim to attract more tourists and gamblers to the region.

The Regional Tourism Organization (RTO) for the area, the Niagara Tourism Partnership, revealed that it would be launching a two pronged marketing campaign, with the objective of bringing what Niagara has to offer to the attention of domestic and international visitors.

The Niagara Canada initiative called for the cooperation of stakeholders from across the region, to help boost the appeal of the area to gamblers and other visitors. "It's a really smart way to operate in our business," said the Chief Executive of the Niagara Tourism Partnership, Robin Garrett.

The RTO has already created partnerships with a number of top tourism groups, including Tourism Toronto, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and the Canadian Tourism Commission.

Garett said that their aim was to have Niagara become "known as a premier quality destination."

Domestic and International Gamblers Targeted

The RTO rolled out its plan, which involved targeting domestic and international visitors in different ways.

The organization aims to attract Canadians by selling Niagara as a 'getaway', while international visitors will be told about the wonderful natural features of the area, including, of course, the Niagara Falls.

"The Falls will amaze you. Our other wonders will, too!" international visitors will be told.

The adds will appear on TV in 30 second spots, as well as through five and ten second teasers.  The ads will appeal to couples who will be sold the spas/casinos/wineries/nightlife of the area, as well as to families who are tempted with entertainment more suited to them.

Print ads will also appear in top publications such as the New Yorker.

Public relations events are also in the pipeline, while efforts are being made to run a Red Bull Crashed Ice Championships event at the falls towards the end of the year.

Niagara Home to Fallsview Casino Resort

Niagara's appeal to gamblers is no doubt boosted by the presence of the Fallsview Casino Resort, home to multiple slots and table games spread over one of the larges casino gaming floors in the world - 200,000 square feet.

The casino boasts over 3,000 slot and video poker machines which offer entertainment in denominations ranging from 1c to $100, at levels to suit all players.

Fallsview Casino also offers blackjack, baccarat, poker, craps, roulette, Pai Gow Poker and Caribbean Stud, all offered in a luxurious and fast paced environment.
