Cryptologic to License Casino Games to Espacejeux
Cryptologic has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Espacejeux, that will see it provide a selection of its best online casino games to the online arm of Loto-Qu?c in Canada.
Espacejeux, which was formally known as Soci? du jeu virtuel du Qu?c and went live online in 2010, will launch at least 14 Cryptologic-powered games over the next year. Cryptologic is a world leader of online casino games.
The first game titled Bejeweled is already being offered to Espacejeux online customers. It is the flagship online slots game from the Cryptologic Casual Game Series, and is being distributed through the firm's OpenBet fixed-odds games platform.
Ian Price, group head of business development at Cryptologic said, "We are delighted to welcome Espacejeux as the latest customer of Cryptologic, underscoring both our content's quality and global reach."
Price added that working with governmental organisations such as Loto-Qu?c underlines Cryptologic's ability and reputation for delivering innovative but also responsible gaming solutions.
On this occasion, Espacejeux's general manager, Fran?s Poulin, said that Espacejeux was known in the gaming industry for its integrity, dynamism and innovation and its commitment to deliver legal and responsible online gaming to its customers. Poulin added, "? working with Cryptologic will enable us to provide a more diverse array of games for Quebecers, and enhance their online experience."
This deal is a sort of Canadian homecoming for Cryptologic, which was founded in Toronto in 1995 and is still listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, even after relocating to Dublin. Cryptologic has one of the most comprehensive online casino game suites, with more than 300 titles. The company licenses gaming software and services to leading operators that cater to non-U.S. based players around the world.
Cryptologic Acquired By Amaya Gaming
Earlier in the month, Cryptologic was in the news for its transactions with another Canadian company, Montreal-based Amaya Gaming Group. In 2011 Amaya bought 7% of the Cryptologic shares and in December 2011 made an initial bid for the remaining shares. Thereafter, it began conducting a process of due diligence.
Due diligence completed, Amaya announced that it had struck a deal to acquire all the remaining shares of Cryptologic in a transaction valued at US$35.8 million. The bid of US$2.54 per share represented a premium of about 56% to the then closing price on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Both company boards have approved the offer.
