Amaya Plans Launch of Mobile Games Platform
Amaya Gaming Group, one of Canada's leading gambling groups, announced today that it would be introducing its first online casino games that will be compatible with mobile and tablet devices.
The new games selection will be introduced by the second quarter of this year and will include some of the group's most popular slot games such as Dragon 8's, Lost Temple - which has 1024 ways to win - and Bars and Bells.
The Amaya mobile gaming platform will also include a mobile live dealer product which will be developed thanks to the firm's partnership with Ho Gaming.
Amaya is working with Ho Gaming to develop a mobile version of its live dealer roulette, baccarat and blackjack, and will be the first in the market to develop these games for tablet users.
Vice president of business development for the group, Darcy Krogh said about Amaya's launch of mobile games: "Amaya recognizes that mobile gaming is fast becoming a standard as more players demand the convenience of portability in igaming."
He said that Amaya Gaming was excited to be the first provider to deliver a mobile Live Dealer product, which would complement the group's comprehensive selection of mobile slots, table games and lottery games.
"Combined with our monthly release of quality online casino games, this demonstrates our continued commitment to provide our customers with the best casino games and platform on the market," he said.
Amaya Completes Purchase of Cryptologic
Early this month, Amaya made a formal bid to purchase the Irish-Canadian casino software specialists, Cryptologic for €27 million.
Before the bid, Amaya already owned 7% of Cryptologic and was seeking to complete the deal to own the group in its entirety.
Cryptologic is the developer of superhero and movie-themed online casino games, particularly slots. The group licenses these branded games to other online casino groups, including big names such as Paddy Power, Betfair and Ladbrokes.
While Cryptologic employs over 20 people in Dublin, Ireland, it also has staff centers in Canada and Malta which are involved in the development of the group's software.
Recently, Cryptologic inked a multi-year licensing deal with Loto-Quebec to provide the state lottery corporation with a portfolio of games for its online gaming site, Espacejeux.
The acquisition of Cryptologic has allowed Amaya Gaming Group to gain a strong foothold in the online gambling industry and expand its games portfolio significantly, to allow players a much wider choice.
