CEO Leaves Atlantic Lottery Corporation
The Atlantic Lottery Corporation will be on the lookout for a new Chief Executive Officer, after Michelle Carinci left the group on Thursday.
Carinci has been CEO of the corporation for over a decade and has overseen activities and programs for the governments of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Brent Scrimshaw, who serves as executive vice-president of brands and channels at the corporation has been elected as interim president and CEO until a replacement is found.
This process may take up to six months, according the chairman of the board, Sean O'Connor.
"It's a significant job because it's a big company," he said. "Usually the bigger the job, the longer they take."
Carinci signed her last contract with the corporation in April 2008, where she was paid $205,000 a year in salary.
However, the Atlantic Lottery Corporation opted not to renew the contract.
"It's simply that there's time for a change for both of us," said O'Connor. "We would say some pretty nice things about her."
It is thought that Carinci, who has been part of the Canadian gambling world for three decades, will find another position in this industry.
She has held positions with the British Columbia Lottery Corp, the Western Canada Lottery Corp and other groups in the past.
