It would be interesting to see how many teenagers in Canada would excel or fail if they were given $1 million after turning 18. While we can only speculate, Winnipeg teen Taylor Witzke will find out for herself.

Just days after turning 18, Taylor, a Transcona Collegiate graduate, bought herself a Canadian lottery scratch card ticket which proved to be a very lucky thing indeed, because she won an instant jackpot prize of $1 million.

Not only that, but according to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, Taylor has entered the record books as the youngest Canadian lottery scratch card winner to date, being just 18 years and 1 day old when she won.

As the story goes, Taylor and some friends had been celebrating her birthday at Club Regent Casino, where she bought her first Canadian lottery scratch card. But little did she know Lady Luck was about to come calling.

That lottery scratch card yielded Taylor a $5 payout, but instead of cashing out, she bought another card at a different venue, and it was that card which turned her from an ordinary birthday girl into Canada's newest millionaire.

Said the lucky teen, 'One second I'm sitting there, and the next I'm holding a ticket worth a million dollars.' As to what Taylor intends to do with her newly won wealth, more studies and a new Camaro for her mum are on the cards.
