Ravens Jets Spread Betting Moves For NFL Clash

Last season the New York Jets were the surprise team of the AFC, falling agonizingly short of an unlikely appearance in the Super Bowl behind a rookie quarterback. Tonight they face the Baltimore Ravens, a team that made a similar run behind their then rookie quarterback and are also loaded with talented players. It is no surprise that the Ravens Jets spread is different at various sports books but generally tight.

Some sports books opened the line at Jets -3 points. This was quickly gobbled up by shrewd gamblers and the best we can currently find is a Baltimore Ravens New York Jets spread of -2.5 points. However some online bookies have gone as short as -1 point, basically making this a pick'em game and suggesting that on a neutral field the Ravens would be the better team. That sort of betting move irritates teams like the Jets who like to talk big, and we can expect a bold effort.

The Over/Under for this game is predictably low at 35.5 points with the only dissenting number not much higher at 36 points. We still think that the Under could be a smart play tonight with both teams heavily reliant on stifling defence.

Sunday's NFL games showed that the Patriots will be a force in the AFC East, but must have given the Ravens a lot of incentive as they could well be the class of their weaker division. The Jets still have a lot to prove tonight and it should be a great game where we think they prevail by 3 points, but certainly would not bet on it.
