NFL Preseason Odds And Some Free Picks For Tonight
It is week 4 of NFLX or the NFL preseason, a relatively meaningless time for non-gonzo NFL fans but a crucial money making opportunity for sports betting gamblers who pounce on the soft lines and lazy spreads.
This is never more true than for the last round of games. The bookies are distracted by the start of College Football, also tonight, and seem to have pulled many of the NFL lines for tonight from their imaginations. We have asked the sports handicapping experts at Mycapper.com for some free advice, because we're cheap that way. Here you go:
The best play of the night: Bet on the RAIDERS to cover the spread
The line for this game has opened at -3.5 points and you can still get that number at most online books. Our database suggests that a TD is a fairer reflection of the correct spread tonight giving us a lot of betting value on Oakland.
The Raiders have enjoyed a very strong preseason particularly when they use their second and third stringers. They demolished the Cowboys and Bears (both on the road) and their only loss was against another good preseason team in the 49ers. The Seahawks don't usually make much of an effort during the preseason and their results have been poor. They have yet to cover a spread.
Take the RAIDERS tonight.
Three more recommended plays: Bet on the BENGALS, the Jets/Eagles OVER, and the REDSKINS to cover the spread
Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts: Bet on the BENGALS to cover the spread (Pick 'em line).
Colts never try during preseason, one of the worst exhibition teams. Expect minimal effort from them and an easy win for the Bengals who have worked harder this entire preseason (because they have more work to do).
New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles: Bet on the OVER for total points (current total is 34 points)
Our stats suggest that the correct total points number for this game should be closer to 38 points. We're getting the right value to bet the Over, especially since this is a Philly home game and their preseason record at home points to casual defense and plenty of points.
Washington Redskins at Arizona Cardinals: Bet on the REDSKINS + the points to cover (current line is +6 points)
The Cardinals are a mess, and not the good kind that wins preseason games. The team is getting media scrutiny, never a good thing for a little franchise such as this one, and the preseason Redskins really aren't bad enough to lay 6 points to against any team. Our stats say a PK line and we expect Washington to win this one SU. Take the points.
