For many years the Canada Lotto was the staple of lottery fans across Canada, but when the 'bigger and better' Canada Lotto Max came along, the Canada Lotto lost some of its luster, but it's shiny again today.

And the reason is that thanks to a 'double rollover', the jackpot of Canada's Lotto 6/49 for tonight's draw (Wednesday, September 1) is a whopping $11 million, which even the biggest Lotto Max fans will sit up and take notice of.

On Saturday the jackpot of Lotto 6/49 was $7 million, but there were no tickets that had all six numbers right. So ahead of tonight's highly anticipated draw, the Canada Lotto jackpot has jumped up by $4 million to make $11 million.

As such, participating lottery outlets are expected to be inundated with lotto fans all through the day up until the live draw where hopefully one lucky Lotto 6/49 ticket holder will win it all, and become Canada's latest lottery millionaire.

The last time a Canada Lottery jackpot reached this high was in August, where a series of rollovers pushed the jackpot to an unbelievable $11.4 million before it was won. These rollovers have sparked new interest in the Lotto 6/49.

Interestingly, the odds of getting all six numbers in the Canada Lottery are 1 in 13,983,816. But despite such mammoth odds, in the end somebody always manages to win it. So the $11 million question is why shouldn't that be you?
