Since we reported on Canada's record $70-million Lotto Max jackpot two weeks ago ($50m main jackpot and twenty $1m Maxmillions jackpots), nobody expected it to grow to the gigantic $105-million prize pool it is currently at.

As the jackpot of arguably Canada's most popular (and biggest) lottery game continues to elude fans from Alberta to Winnipeg and everywhere in between, more Canadians than ever are buying Lotto Max tickets ahead of this Friday's live draw.

Despite the rollovers, the main jackpot has remained unchanged while there are now 55 Maxmillions jackpots to be won. This means (in theory) that Friday's draw could yield 55 instant individual millionaires (not including syndicate members).

That's a lot of millionaires from a single Canada Lotto Max draw. However, as mentioned before, that is just in theory because statistically the odds are no doubt about a trillion to one that 56 tickets will match Friday's winning Lotto Max numbers.

One thing is for sure though, and that is that this enormous Lotto Max jackpot has the whole of Canada abuzz. Said Atlantic Lottery Corporation spokesperson, Courtney Pringle Carver, 'It's [Canada Lotto Max jackpot] never been this high.'

As a result, Lotto Max sales have gone through the roof as even the biggest lottery critics have realized that with so much cash on the line, they may as well have a shot at it. After all, somebody has to win the jackpot at some point, so why not them?

It is this change in attitude across Canada that has seen lottery fans queuing at Lotto Max outlets, hoping, even praying, that Lady Luck will smile on them, and if not reward them with the $50m jackpot, then at least a $1m Maxmillions jackpot.
