Brazilians Still Tipped to Win the World Cup
While Carlos Alberto Parreira is giving all his attention to the South African team World Cup team which he coaches, he still found time this week to comment on the performance of the Brazilian side.
Parreira led his homeland team to World Cup victory in 1994 and has plenty of experience under his belt.
The 67 year old has tipped Brazil to win this year's World Cup in South Africa, and bookies are backing this prediction with odds of 4/1 at present.
"Their future in this tournament is very positive," said Parreira in a press conference. "Remember the Brazilians haven't yet uses their experience to the full, they haven't put their foot on the pedal to the full."
Parreira also said that the Brazilian team is so comfortable with its soccer that "it is almost as if they are constantly training."
The Bafana coach also commented on the criticism that is being leveled against the English side, especially Capello's coaching methods.
He backed up Capello in his choice of announcing the team shortly before a game begins and said: "Lots of European based players say the coach announces the team sometimes only in the dressing room."
"Nobody was talking about this when England were winning all their qualifying games, we never heard about," he said. "Only now because they draw two games these things come out. This is football, we call it results."
