If a book existed called 'How to Win a £3 Million Lottery Jackpot in Minutes', imagine how many copies it would sell. But there isn't (I Googled it). There is, however, the true story of a recent EuroMillions Lottery jackpot winner in England who won his fortune with less than two minutes to spare.

What am I talking about you may ask? Chance, is what I'm talking about. Consider this. When 59-year-old Roger Gillespie from Saint Just in the southern English county of Cornwall realized that he'd forgotten to buy EuroMillions Lottery tickets with his regular played numbers, he had to opt for a lucky dip.

When Gillespie poked his head in at his local newsagent, it was 7:28pm which meant he only had two minutes before the EuroMillions Lottery lines closed for that night's draw. Not wanting to miss out, he asked the shop assistant for lucky dip lotto numbers, which turned out to be the best decision of his life.

Because when Gillespie checked his numbers that night after the live EuroMillions draw, he thought he had matched five numbers, but was still ecstatic that he'd won. However, it was only when his daughter checked the ticket that she noticed he had all six numbers, and had won the EuroMillions jackpot.

Said a thrilled Gillespie, 'I had completely forgotten it was Lotto night, but decided to nip to the local shop to buy some milk when I noticed the newsagents lights were still on. I saw I had two minutes to go so I put my head through the door and asked for a lucky dip, put it in my pocket and went to get milk.'

And the rest, as they say, is history. After playing the lottery for 15 years, it finally paid off for the proud father of three who looks after his granddaughter. His EuroMillions Lottery lucky dip numbers were 16, 30, 34, 37, 41 and 42 which won him the £2,969,627 that will no doubt change his life forever.

Gillespie told reporters that he intends to sell his cottage and plans on spending the money on his family.
