A gastronome is a someone who is crazy for food. Someone who appreciates fine dining, the best cuisine, the finest wines, the best chefs, top service, the most sublime restaurants and eateries. In short, someone who finds in gastronomy the 'spice of life' - you know, that 'secret ingredient' that makes getting up in the morning a pleasure and not a task.

I feel exactly the same way about online gambling and always will. And the reason is that online gambling has always been good to me. That is not to say that I have won millions of dollars online, but that I have found in this popular internet activity a hobby, a way to unwind after a hard day at the office, a means to relax, a constantly evolving form of entertainment, and a platform from which to 'flirt' with lady luck and win some money.

Now as an avid online gambling fan, there are few good online casinos that I haven't played at and even fewer that I haven't won at - from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars. But the following story took place in one of my favourite online casinos, Ruby Fortune Casino. The thing that attracted me to Ruby Fortune was the fact that it accepts the Canadian dollar. (I am a Canuck through and through and proud of it.) But the thing that kept me coming back to Ruby Fortune Casino - and still does - is its super selection of online casino games.

Developed and released by Microgaming, the games at Ruby Fortune Casino are many with one thing in common - they are all exhilarating to play and boast tons of great features. But on the day in question, the day my story takes place, I was in the mood to play some slots. So logged in, I headed over to the online slots section and chose to play a well-known game called Tomb Raider.

I must have spent at least an hour and a half playing Tomb Raider slots (the lowest coin denomination on maximum bet) with a varying amount of success, when I got down to my last $15 (I started off that session with a budget of $80). I clicked the spin reels button and next thing the game lit up like a Christmas tree (not really, but I've always wanted to says that). It turns out that I had won somewhere in the region of $2,000. I nearly fell off my chair, because I realized that that was the day Lara Croft loved me. And since then, we've spent many lucrative days and nights together.
