During any NFL season, most betting fans in North America and beyond collectively wager hundreds of millions of dollars on a wide variety of betting markets, particularly upcoming games. This means they only have a week between games to formulate and place their bets. However, many NFL bettors these days always bet on NFL futures, which as their name suggests, are bets that are taken now for an event that takes place sometime in the future. NFL Futures Are Long Term BetsFor instance, the most common future bets - or long term bets - in terms of NFL teams include which team will win the Super Bowl, which team will win the NFC Conference, which team will win the AFC Conference, and which team will win their respective Division (NFC North, NFC South, NFC West and NFC East, and AFC North, AFC South, AFC West and AFC East). NFL futures can pay out vast amounts of money, particularly if you take a longshot (hence the long odds) which ends up coming tops at the end of the season. Nothing is more satisfying from an NFL betting perspective than to take a bet that most punters would consider crazy, which then pans out by the end of the season. Of course, this is far easier said than done. The reason is that before you bet any amount of money, it is vital that you have a better than average understanding of every team in the league in terms of their strengths and weaknesses - both offensively and defensively - and even where their coaching staff are concerned. Review Each Team's Form Before BettingYou can glean most of this information by reviewing each team's performance over the last few seasons, as well as by paying close attention to any changes they made during the offseason - both on and off the field. For instance, a player beset by personal problems off the field, may well be too distracted to deliver as expected to on the field. After conducting a detailed and in-depth analysis of the each team - with a good measure of gut instinct thrown in - you should be well on your way to placing a host of NFL future bets with confidence. Of course, even the best laid plans can go awry, as injuries, scandals and the like can instantly change the direction of a team in any given season. However, it is precisely the 'unknowns' that makes future NFL betting such an exhilarating prospect. Look for NFL Value BetsAnother key to successful NFL futures is having the ability to recognize bets with the best value, meaning bets with odds that represent a higher value probability than the actual probability itself. You can seek these out by comparing the future bets posted by the many reputable sports betting sites in operation. Arguably the most common of all NFL futures bets is the eventual Super Bowl winner, and for the latest odds on that betting line and many others, keep your eye on the constantly updated futures odds listed on the right hand side of this page. |
