The Fallsview Casino at Niagara Falls has reached a milestone this week. The Fallsview Casino has celebrated 10 years since the casino resort opened its doors. The casino was first open to the public on June 10th, 2004. This was the first time that Niagara Falls had offered Las Vegas style entertainment. Not only has Fallsview Casino offered players the chance for some great gaming and leisure activities, the casino has also forged some excellent community partnerships.

Fallsview Casino - The First 10 Years

The Fallsview Casino has done well since it opened its doors 10 years ago. The casino has played a major role in revitalising tourism in the area, and has become a year-round vacation destination in a region that only had seasonal visitors before the casino resort was opened.

The casino resort offers 2.5 million square feet of entertainment, dining, shopping, casino gaming, and more. There are almost eight million visitors who come to the casino resort each year. Fallsview Casino is one of the largest employers in the region, and is known to behave in a responsible corporate manner. Fallsview Casino has received the Hamilton-Niagara Top Employers award for four years.

The Fallsview Casino has hosted well over 2,000 performances, which began with Paul Anka being the first to perform on the Avalon stage in the first month of operations in 2004. Other top performers have included the likes of Ringo Starr, Aretha Franklin, Carol Burnett, Al Pacio, Sophia Loren, and others.

In addition to offering a good and stable place of employment, Fallsview Casino has also been involved in community partnerships. Over the years, Fallsview Casino has given over $15 million to a number of community programs in Niagara. Some of these organisations include the Niagara Health System Foundation, the United Way of Niagara Falls and Greater Fort Erie, the Boys & Girls Club for the Niagara Falls Community Centre, the Niagara College Foundation, and other social service programs. In addition to charitable contributions, the Fallsview Casino also sponsors various fundraising events, and many employees and senior managers volunteer their time sitting on boards of non-profit organisations and the local tourism board.

The Fallsview Casino President Comments

The President of Fallsview Casino, Art Frank, had the following to say regarding the casino's 10th anniversary: "This is an incredible milestone for our organisation. Despite the industry's ebbs and flows, we've remained a competitive player in our market, and as we reflect on our achievements and look forward to the next 10 years, we do so with tremendous gratitude to our patrons, employees and partners, who make us one of North America's premier entertainment and tourist attractions."
