Sportech and Great Canadian Gaming Corporation Deal

Sportech Provides Canadians with More Efficient Wagering

An extension to a previous deal has been inked between Sportech and the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. Sportech and the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation's Deal includes the use of Sportech's mobile wagering services, and self-wagering devices, along with new teller-operated wagering. The deal has been made with Sportech's Racing and Digital division, which will be providing pari-mutuel tote wagering services to the GCGC.

With the new deal in place, the GCGC punters will now be able to place wagers via their smartphones, and other mobile devices such as tablets while they are at the racetrack. The GCGC owns racetracks that are located in Ontario and in British Columbia. This new offering will make it far more convenient for punters at the racetrack to place their wagers.

The Executive Director of the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, Bruce Barbour, said: "We have been pleased with the reliability and performance of Sportech's wagering technology, and with the level of service we have received, and we look forward to implementing some of the new technologies Sportech has on the horizon."

The Sportech Racing and Digital division's President, Andrew Gaughan, had the following to say regarding the new deal: "This new contract with Great Canadian Gaming extends an important relationship with a valued customer. It not only provides more efficient wagering terminals, but also provides the opportunity to adopt new and emerging technologies, such as Sportech's Digital Link - mobile wagering and digital voucher suite."
