Unbeaten Saints Visit Patriots in Sunday NFL Action

The New Orleans Saints have looked like one of the two best teams in the NFL so far this season. The only other team that can make that claim is the Denver Broncos. Both teams are unbeaten and have looked unstoppable. Could we see a Peyton Manning vs Drew Brees rematch in the Super Bowl?

One team that has something to say about that is the New England Patriots. The Pats are still one of the best teams in football, even if they are thin at the receiver position these days. They still have one of the game's best quarterbacks in Tom Brady and one of the best coaches in Bill Belichick. If anyone can figure out a way to slow down the powerful Saints offense, it would be Belichick.

New Orleans comes into the game at 5-0 and really has not been threatened in a game yet since pulling out a 16-14 win at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second week of the season. Blowouts over the Arizona Cardinals 31-7 and the Miami Dolphins 38-17 and a not-as-close-as-it-looked 26-18 win over the Chicago Bears have followed the Tampa Bay game. All three of the teams that New Orleans has pounded went into this week at 3-2 The Bears are now 4-2 after beating the New York Giants in this week's Thursday Night game 27-21.

New England suffered its first loss of the season last week at the Cincinnati Bengals 13-6. That was an ugly offensive game for the Patriots, which saw a long streak of consecutive games by Brady with a touchdown pass stopped. However, in his and the Pats defense, this game was played in a driving rainstorm. That is a shame because this would be even bigger had the Pats also come in at 5-0.

New England has beaten the Buffalo Bills 23-31, the now formidable New York Jets 13-10, the Bucs 23-3 and the Falcons 30-23. Having the game at New England will certainly help as well. The Pats rarely lose on their home field.

SportsInteraction.com has the odds on this great game:

New Orleans at New England- The Saints are +2.5 -120 and the Patriots are -2.5 +100 ATS. So far, 86% of the money has been placed on the Saints. Look for this line to be closer to even by kickoff.

We like New Orleans +2.5 in this game. This offense is firing on all cylinders right now while the Pats are struggling to find a go-to receiver. New England's defense will give the Saints a bit stiffer test than most, but we still like the way New Orleans is playing right now. Take the Saints and lay the 2.5.

There really is a shortage of good games this week in the NFL. But this one looks like it could be a good one.

Green Bay at Baltimore- The Packers are -3 +100 on the road as the Ravens are getting +3 -120 ATS. We like Green Bay to win this one in a shootout between Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco. Take the Packers -3.

Detroit at Cleveland- Yes, that's right, the Lions and Browns are playing in what looks like one of the week's better games. Both are 3-2 and in contention. They are headed in opposite directions however. The Browns two losses were in their first two games while Detroit's have been in their two most recent games. The Lions are -3 +100 and the Browns are +3 -120. Take the Browns and the three points.
