Lions at Packers in Big NFC North Contest

The Detroit Lions will face the Green Bay Packers this weekend in a key NFC North game at Lambeau Field. The Lions come into this game at 3-1 and in a first-place tie with the Chicago Bears. The Packers come in at 1-2 and could ill afford to fall to 1-3.

The Packers are a very talented team despite those two losses. Both were close losses to good teams, a three-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers on the road and another three-point loss to the Cincinnati Bengals away from home. In their one home game they hammered the Washington Redskins, jumping out to a 30-7 lead.

The Lions have been a surprise team thus far this season. A team with only four wins a season ago, they can equal that total with a win over the Packers in only the fifth week. They beat the Chicago Bears 40-32 last week to move into a tie for first place.

Detroit's schedule has been less difficult than the Packers has. They have a win over the Minnesota Vikings by 10 points and a win over the Redskins 27-20 and also a loss to the Arizona Cardinals 25-21. But beating a previously unbeaten Bears team last week answered a lot of questions whether the Lions are for real.

The Lions and Packers have been playing each other twice a year for as long as we can all remember. Many of these battles have taken place on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit. The two will meet again this year on Thanksgiving Day.

In the all time series the Packers lead 93-65-7. The Packers have also won four in a row coming into this game.

With Aaron Rodgers for Green Bay and Matt Stafford for the Lions, we have two quarterbacks who like to throw the ball around the yard a lot. Reggie Bush gives the Lions an added weapon in the running game that the Pack does not have. Although Randall Cobb does a decent impression of Bush's running and receiving abilities, so maybe for this week, they will have their own Bush.

Bodog has odds on this game as well as the others around the NFL this weekend.

Lions at Packers- The line is Lions +7 and Packers -7 ATS. Over/Under is 54. We are going to pick the Lions +7 and the over -105.

Seahawks at Colts- Seahawks are -3 -105 and the Colts are +3 -115. ATS Over/Under is 44. The Seahawks are clearly not the same team on the road. We like the Colts +3 -115 and the under -105.

Ravens at Dolphins- Baltimore is +3 -125 and Miami is -3 +105 ATS. Over/Under is 43.5. The Dolphins come in on a short week after getting hammered on Monday Night Football by the Saints. We like the Ravens +3 -125 and the under -110.

Saints at Bears- The Saints are -1 and the Bears +1 ATS. O/U is 49. New Orleans is looking very strong so far this year. We like them to beat the Bears this week by more then one point. We also like the over.
