Spurs Ahead Again In NBA Finals
San Antonio Spurs have taken the series lead 3-2 in the fifth game of the 2013 NBA finals and Miami Heat will have to play catch up once again. The Heats face two must win games if they are to successfully defend their NBA title. The Spurs have the cushion of being able to lose one game, not that they would be thinking this way.
Gregg Popovich's men would want to nail the championship in Game 6 itself. Game 6 will be held on Tuesday June 18 and Game 7, if required, will be held on Thursday June 20. Both the games are at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, which is the home of the Spurs. Whatever little advantage this offers will be welcome to the home team.
Game 6 Of 2013 NBA Finals
The San Antonio Spurs will do everything they possibly can to finish the 2013 NBA finals in Game 6. They would not want to face a resurgent Miami Heat team in Game 7. The Spurs do not depend on one player to do all the work. The men who performed on Sunday will have to repeat the effort on June 18. Some may have been surprised by the induction of veteran Manu Ginobili so late in the season. But Ginobili in his first game this season gave the Spurs the initial lead and the rest of the team was able to carry the momentum through. The Spurs fans will be hoping for more of the same from Ginobili.
Danny Green, the Spurs shooting guard, broke Ray Allen's NBA record for most three pointers ever in a Finals series. The not fully fit Tony Parker led the scoring for the Spurs with 26 points. Both these guys will have to make the final effort on Tuesday as well.
The Eastern Conference finals went to seven games. There Miami Heat was leading and Indiana Pacers was playing catch up. The Heats won the final game to clinch the Conference title. It is ironic that they now find themselves in the reverse position. But LeBron James and company have what it takes to persevere and win.
