$30M Lotto Max Payout to Saskatchewan Man
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation revealed the identity of the man who bagged himself a cool $30 million in a recent Lotto Max lottery draw.
The OLG said David Chaykowski from Saskatchewan came forward to claim his prize, and soon after the check was presented to him and his wife, Gloria at a special ceremony this week.
The winner has been playing the same numbers since 2009 and his determination definitely paid off.
He couldn't quite get his head around being an instant millionaire thirty times over. "It's still not sinking in," he said, and then added, "Could have happened a lot earlier!"
Chaykowski said that the money would be well appreciated in his family, which includes his three grown children and seven grandchildren.
"No more bills and I'm going to look after the family," said the thrilled winner.
Chaykowski also said that there was no question about the future of his job as an industrial mechanic. "I think I've just retired," he said at the press conference.
Lucky Lotto Max Numbers Paid $30m
Chaykowski stuck with the same numbers week after week for over four years, and is thrilled that he did so when he chose the winning numbers on the ticket he purchased at the Big River Co Op gas station.
The winning numbers in the March 8th draw were 9, 15, 17, 28, 35, 39 and 41.
Asked why he chose those particular Lotto Max numbers, Chaykowski couldn't give a reply, only remembering that his hockey jersey number was 9.
Incredibly, the winner had a dream over the weekend that he was dividing a $30 million prize among his family members, and when his daughter called him to tell him that the Lotto Max lottery winner was from North Saskatchewan, he had a feeling that he was the lucky winner.
Chaykowski said that many years ago, he made a promise to his mother that should he ever win the lottery, he'd call her first, and that is exactly what happened when he learned that he had won the $30 million Lotto Max payout.
$20 Million Lotto Max Jackpot Tonight
This week, the Lotto Max jackpot is an estimated $20 million and the draw will take place tonight, March 22nd.
Big jackpots in this lottery draw begin at $10 million and the cost per play is $5 for three sets of number.
Simply pick seven numbers from 1 to 49 and cross fingers that your numbers will be drawn.
