It is Week Nine of the NFL regular season. That means we are now at the half way point. It is time to start thinking about playoffs and who needs to step it up or get left out. The Houston Texans are leading the AFC South and have the number one seed in the AFC as of right now with a 6-1 record. They will host the Buffalo Bills this week. Behind them in the South is the surprising Indianapolis Colts at 4-3 with rookie quarterback Andrew Luck leading the way.

Speaking of surprises, the Miami Dolphins are now in the thick of the playoff race with a rookie quarterback of their own in Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins are 4-3 and only a half game behind the New England Patriots for the AFC East lead.

In the NFC, the story is the Atlanta Falcons who are still unbeaten. At 7-0, the Falcons have a four game lead over everyone else in the NFC South. Their closest competitors are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 3-4.

In The NFC North, the Chicago Bears lead the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings by two games in the loss column at 6-1. The Packers and Vikings are both 5-3.

In the NFC East, the New York Giants have a two game cushion on the loss side on the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys at 6-2. The Eagles and Cowboys are both 3-4.
