Week Neighteen CFL Betting Preview Including Our Picks
This is it for the Edmonton Eskimos and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. This is the final week of the regular season. There's one last chance to make the playoffs, or go home this week. Five of the six playoff spots have been decided, at least as far as which teams are in. Only one more spot is on the line and it will be either Edmonton or Hamilton getting there.
Last week, Hamilton stayed in contention with a critical 28-18 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. That loss made Winnipeg the first team to fall out of playoff contention. Edmonton lost a chance to clinch a playoff spot by losing to the Montreal Alouettes 27-25.
The home sites of the playoff games have been decided already. Next week the Toronto Argonauts will host one game while the Calgary Stampeders host the other. Both will be played on Sunday, Nov 11. The Saskatchewan Rough Riders will be the visiting team at one of those games. Either Edmonton or Hamilton will be at the other game. If the Eskimos win this week and the Rough Riders lose, then Edmonton goes to Toronto and Saskatchewan goes to Calgary. Otherwise Saskatchewan will go to Toronto and either Hamilton or Edmonton goes to Calgary.
If Edmonton loses and Hamilton wins this week, they will go to Calgary. If either of those does not happen it will be Edmonton going to the playoffs.
The semifinals will be hosted on Sunday, November 18th at the home fields of the Montreal Alouettes and the British Columbia Lions. Both of them have clinched division titles and as such get a bye in the first round.
This week's regular season finales and the lines on them include:
Hamilton at Toronto
Both Bodog and Pinnacle has Toronto at +7. Bodog has Hamilton -7 and Toronto +7 at even odds. Pinnacle has Hamilton -7 at 2.020 and Toronto at +7 at 1.885. Straight up they have Toronto 3.710 and Hamilton 1.325. Over/under on the game is 52.5 at Pinnacle or 53 at Bodog. We are going to go with Toronto +7 on this one. Teams with their playoff spots already clinched tend to rest starters. That's a good time to take the points.
Saskatchewan at British Columbia
Bodog has Saskatchewan at +3.5 +100. Pinnacle has Saskatchewan +3.5 2.000. Bodog has B.C. -3.5 +100. Pinnacle has B.C. -3.5 1.909. Both have the over/under at 46. We like B.C in this one -3.5.
Montreal at Winnipeg
Pinnacle has Montreal -1 1.962. Winnipeg is +1 1,943. Over/under is 49.5. We like Montreal -1.
Calgary at Edmonton
This game is not on any of the sports books. But we will give you a pick anyway in case it pops up later. We like Edmonton. They have their playoff lives at stake and will be jacked up.
