Week six NFL Betting Preview Including Our Picks
Week seven of the NFL season is upon us. After six weeks of play, we have only two teams in the entire AFC with a winning record. The Houston Texans are 5-1 and leading the AFC South over the Indianapolis Colts by two games in the loss column. The Baltimore Ravens are 5-1 and lead the AFC North Division by two games over the Cincinnati Bengals. In the AFC East, everybody is 3-3 and in the West, Denver and San Diego are tied at 3-3.
In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers have played their seventh game already, beating the Seattle Seahawks last night 13-6 to go to 5-2. The Arizona Cardinals will need a win at the Minnesota Vikings to keep pace. The Seahawks are now 4-3. The St. Louis Rams are hosting the Green Bay Packers this week. They are 3-3.
In the NFC East, The Washington Redskins will try to tie the New York Giants when the teams meet in New York. The Giants are 4-2 and Washington is 3-3. In the South, the Atlanta Falcons are running away with it. They have a three game lead over the rest of the division. In the North, The Chicago Bears lead the Minnesota Vikings by one game in the loss column. The Bears host the Lions on Monday Night Football.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This is a must win for both teams if they expect to stay in any kind of NFC Wild Card hunt. A loss for the Saints would be their fifth already. The Bucs would lose their fourth game and be looking at a road game in four days at Minnesota. Both teams are coming off a win in their last game. The Saints beat the San Diego Chargers two weeks ago and Tampa Bay routed the Kansas City Chiefs last week. The game has sold so many tickets that they are lifting the blackout in Florida. Bodog has the Saints at -3 -105 while they have the Bucs at +3 -115. Over/under on the game is 50. We like the Bucs at home getting 3 points.
Baltimore Raven at Houston Texans
Can you say AFC Championship game preview? Right now it looks like this match up has a great chance. The team who wins this game may well be the team with home field advantage for that one. Of course, as the old saying goes, there is a lot of football left to be played. The Texans are coming off a loss for the first time all year. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back from the drubbing they got from the Packers a week ago. The Ravens have won a lot of games by the skin of their teeth. This should be a close one as well. The Ravens are getting a whopping seven points. This is no doubt in reaction to Ray Lewis going down to injury. We still think that's a lot of points. Over/under on the game is 48.5. We like the Ravens +7.
Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings
The Cardinals ship has sprung a leak. After winning their first four, the Cards have lost two in a row to the Rams and the Buffalo Bills. Minnesota is coming off a loss to the Redskins last week as well. Both of these teams are in the thick of the NFC playoff race and a win would sure help their cause. A loss would not be the end of the world, but in Arizona's case, three in a row might be time to panic a bit. Arizona is +7 -120. The Vikings are -7 even. Over/under on the game is 40.5. This might be a good game to take the over. We also like Arizona +7.
Some other games of note include:
Green Bay Packers at St. Louis Rams
Packers are -6. Over/under is 45.5. We like the Packers -6.
Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers
Cowboys are -2 -115. Panthers are +2 -105. Over/under is 45.5. We like the under and the Cowboys -2.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders
Jaguars are +4.5 -115. Raiders are -4.5 -105. Over/under is 44. One thing we've noticed about the Jags is they play much better on the road. We like Jacksonville +4.5.
