WSOP 2012-2013 Circuit to Reach Canada
For the first time in the World Series of Poker circuit history, the tour
will include a stopover in Canada, it was announced yesterday, with buy ins for
events at the 20 stops ranging from $365 to $1,675.
The World Series of Poker released its schedule for the 2012-2013 Circuit, which features a total of 20 stops across North America, including the River Rock Casino in Vancouver, British Columbia in late October this year, as part of its WSOP 2012-2013 schedule in Canada.
Other new stopovers this season include Harrah's Cherokee in Cherokee, NC and the new Horseshoe Cleveland at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.WSOP No. 1 Regional Tour
The Executive Director of WSOP, Ty Stewart spoke about the 2012-2013 WSOP Circuit schedule which was unveiled this week.
"We're coming off the best year of participation in the history of the WSOP Circuit and the addition of these new markets really brings our vision to life," he said. "We want to have the No. 1 regional tour to go alongside the number one super event in poker, and we believe we have the best offering in terms of value and ROI at these stakes and the most exciting championship format."
The 2012-2013 WSOP Circuit will kick off at IP Casino Resort and Spa on August 9th, and will end at Harrah's New Orleans where the National Championships will be held.
Each of the 20 stops will include a Main Event Championship with a $1,675 buy in. Every winner of the stopover's Main Even Championship will receive automatic entry in the Southern Comfort 100 World Series of Poker National Championship in New Orleans in May next year, marking the culmination of the WSOP Circuit tour.
