NCAAB Georgetown vs Notre Dame Odds Preview
Tonight (Monday, February 27), NCAAB betting fans can look forward to what should be an exhilarating showdown between fierce conference rivals, the Georgetown Hoyas and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, in Georgetown.
What should make this a particularly exciting matchup is that both teams have lost recently in the tri-state area, which means each will be particularly eager to notch up a victory tonight, and will no doubt bring out their A-games.
Last week Georgetown were dispatched by the Seton Hall Pirates, while Notre Dame were beaten by St. John's Red Storm. However, that doesn't mean each isn't capable of making a big splash in New York next week, where one of the two coveted final double-byes in the Big East Championship is at stake.
Georgetown vs Notre Dame Odds
According to Canadian-friendly internet sportsbook Bodog, the Georgetown Hoyas will start as the -6.5 favorites against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in tonight's eagerly awaited Georgetown vs Notre Dame matchup:
Spread | Total | |
A Notre Dame Fighting Irish | +6½ 1.91 | o118 1.83 |
H Georgetown Hoyas | -6½ 1.91 | u118 2.00 |
The Georgetown vs Notre Dame odds aside, don't discount Notre Dame just yet, considering that if coach Mike Brey's team wins tonight, the Big East Championship spot is theirs. That said, Georgetown coach John Thompson III will be fully aware of this, and will do everything to ensure that his team sends the Fighting Irish home with a loss to their name.
Both NCAAB Teams Have Shut Up Their Critics This Season
Interestingly, both of these teams were pretty much written off at the start of the NCAAB season, but both have shut their critics up as the season has progressed, and are now poised to head into the latter part of the season. While each team has a different style of play, their tempos are very well-matched.
For Georgetown this evening, expect center Henry Sims to lead the way, as a player who has been playing up a storm of late, and is leading his team with an average of 3.4 assists, 11.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. This is an enormous improvement on his record from a few seasons ago, and he seems to be only getting better. Offensively, Jason Clark and Hollis Thompson should rack up some much-needed points.
For Notra Dame tonight, look out for talented young guards Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant to shape the way the team performs, as they have each become important players for their team, and have been credited with propelling too a large degree this season. In the front court, Jack Cooley's 62.8% shooting record from the field should be a big asset to the team, especially as he's not afraid of bringing a physical game.
