Team Canada Confirms Attendance At World Champs Poker Event

World Team Poker's Event kicks off on May 24th to 26th in Las Vegas

The World Team Poker Event will be held in Las Vegas between May 24th and May 26th.

This is the culmination of four league matches played each year, after which teams meet up at the annual Championship Event in Vegas and, according to the press release, "battle it out for 'Pride, Passion, Country.'

Team Canada is ready for the challenge and has confirmed that it will participate in the event.

The team will be captained by Greg Mueller, as well as a selection of talented young players who have already proven themselves in live tournaments and online.

Greg Mueller

Mueller is a two time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, both in 2009. He won the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout and the $10,000 Limit Hold'em World Championship.

Mueller has also made five additional WSOP final tables and has cashed in no less than 21 WSOP events, five WPT cashes and one World Pokr Tour final table.

Shawn Buchanan

Buchanan was the winner of the 2007 WPT Mandalay Bay $10K No Limit Hold'em Championship.

He also finished second in the the WSOP 2010 $25K No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event.

Eric Cloutier

Former professional hockey player, like Mueller, who finished second in the 2010 WSOP $10K Deuce to Seven No Limit Lowball Championship event.

Others in the Team:

Erik Cajelais, Terrence Chan, Owen Crowe, Steven Goosen, Peter Jetten, Daniel Peter Idema, Nenad Medi and Gavin Smith.
