The New York-based lottery firm, Scientific Games Corporation has signed a five year deal with Canada's Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation to provide them with instant lottery ticket printing.

This contract comes a month after the company was selected to provide instant ticket printing to the Dutch lottery operator, De Lotto.

The five year contract with OLG includes the option to extend for another three years.

Lorne Weil, new CEO and Chairman for Scientific Games commented: "We are extremely pleased to have OLG as an instant ticket customer."

She continued: "In 2009, we invested in a new state-of-the-art printing press for our Montreal facility to optimise customer service and support for our Canadian customers as well as our growing base of global customers. This press was a large investment, which more than doubled our prior capacity in Canada and enhanced the security and quality of our instant games. The OLG award helps to validate our strategy and investments in Canada."

The contract that has been signed by Scientific Games with De Lotto covers a four year period with an option for extension.

Included in the contract is the requirement for Scientific Games to consult on game design and marketing, printing and distributing tickets and providing field sales support.

Weil expressed the company's excitement over the contract with De Lotto.

"We see growth potential for instant tickets in the Netherlands as De Lotto's instant ticket sales in 2009 represented roughly 20 percent of lottery sales compared with almost 60 percent of lottery sales in the US."

"We believe we can expand instant ticket penetration through both the addition of our cooperative services and by working with De Lotto to implement best practices," Weil stated.
