If anyone avoided buying a Lotto Max ticket because it was Friday 13th, they should be kicking themselves.

The lottery was hit over the weekend and the $50 million prize could be in lucky players' bank accounts by the end of this week.

Lottery officials are waiting for two winners of the $50 million Lotto Max jackpot to come forward and claim their prizes.

Two winning tickets - one from Ottawa and one in Quebec - both reeled in a prize of $25 million each - on Friday the 13th!

A spokesman for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp said that the winning tickets had not been turned in yet.

"We're waiting for the winning ticket to be validated," said Tony Bitoni. "All we can tell you now is it was sold somewhere in Ottawa."

It will be easier to trace the winner if the winning ticket is brought to a retailer for validation.

"For prizes more than $10,000, the computer automatically freezes the terminal," he explained. "Then the computer calls our customer support centre. We speak to the retailer and then we speak to the winner or winners and give them instructions."

The OLG also put out a statement saying that five $1 million tickets were also sold in Ontario this past week through the Maxmillions linked to Lotto Max.

In addition, three $500,000 tickets and three $333,333.40 were won in Ontario.

The winning numbers for the $50 million prize were as follows:

19, 25, 27, 29, 30, 35 and 46. Bonus 15.
