Tiger Woods Set to Return Next Month
After months of self imposed exile, rehab and a break from professional golf, Tiger Woods is set to kick start his career at Augusta in April.
The player, whose career froze literally overnight with news that he had been unfaithful to his wife Elin with up to fourteen women, has seen some of his major sponsors back out of deals and his marriage nearly fall apart.
Rumours are, however, that Tiger Woods has managed to get his marriage back on track, and is now living at home. For the first time in a long time, the couple were photographed together, and this was followed closely by an official announcement that Woods would be back on the green next month.
Four times Masters winner, Arnold Palmer commented on Woods' return and said that things may not go as smoothly as the shamed golfer hopes.
"It is going to be tough for Tiger, it is going to be something that will take him a little time to get used to. I'm sure he will anticipate all those things before he gets there and I think he will understand what will happen," he said.
Palmer was hoping that Woods would appear back on the golf course at his own PGA Tour invitational event that is due to start next week, and was disappointed when he learned that Tiger had chosen Augusta as a starting point.
"He expressed his regrets for not being able to play and said he was sorry but he didn't feel his game was up to speed yet," said Palmer.
It was not only Woods' level of play that ruled the PGA Tour event out. Analysts believe that the media crush would have been too much for the golf course to handle, and while contingency plans had been discussed, they would have been a challenge, to say the least.
Palmer acknowledged that Augusta was the perfect location to handle the expected media barrage. "Augusta is one place in the world that you can really have control," he said, "and they will control everything from the crowds to the situation that will be facing Tiger."
