I've been an online gambler in Canada for many years, and as such follow closely what's going on in the online gambling scene here and abroad. So imagine my delight when I came upon a promotion launched by PlayNow.com, Canada's first ever state-sanctioned online casino, offering all new players a $100 bonus offer.

Now you have to understand that casino bonus offers are the staple of the online gambling world and as such are a 'dime a dozen.' But here's where it gets interesting. Not long after PlayCom.com published details of its promotion, where by depositing and wagering $100 on any game at PlayNow.com, the casino would award players with a free $100 token, a 'loophole' was revealed.

First let me explain that most online casino bonuses come attached to a list of terms and conditions a mile long, that usually include a minimum wagering requirement to ensure the bonus is 'played through' a number of times to make it virtually impossible for players to exploit the casino and make money off the bonus.

But thanks to the 'loophole', this is not the case at PlayNow.com.

According to player comments on numerous blogs surrounding the PlayNow.com promotion, there is an easy way to exploit the deal so that in just a few minutes you can walk away with your bonus boosted and even cash it out.

A number of players said all they did was deposit the required $100 and then played a few hands of a low level game like baccarat before their winnings topped the $200 mark. As this met the promotion's terms and conditions (where there is apparently no mention of a minimum wagering requirement), players could simply cash out their winnings, effectively doubling their money.

One blogger said that both he and his wife took advantage of the promotion and in less than 15 minutes each logged out better off than when they started - he cashed out $195 while she cashed out $205.

Faced with the possibility of yet more egg on its face (PlayNow.com had to be closed down soon after it's launch a few months ago when it was hacked), officials of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), which owns and operates PlayNow.com, issued a statement saying the promotion was not a glitch, but a planned promotional drive to attract more players.

Whether that's true or not who knows. But what I do know is that when I paid a visit to the site, I logged off $212 richer in under five minutes. Thanks PlayNow.com.
