Online Gaming Site PlayOLG Launched in Ontario
Ontario residents now have a regulated and legalised online gambling site to enjoy. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has now joined with the other Atlantic provinces in offering its own gaming site. Those who live in Quebec, British Columbia, and Manitoba already have similar regulated gaming sites to play at.
The online gaming site PlayOLG was launched in Ontario at the end of last week. Before the official launch, the site was previewed by some of the members of the OLG's Winner's Circle Rewards. The site is now live to all those who live in Ontario and are of the legal age. Players can now go to the PlayOLG site and register for real money play.

The online gaming site offers players a selection of slots games, along with games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and single-player poker. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation will be using some of the profits from this new venture to provide additional funds for the Government of Ontario. Funds are used at the government's discretion, including a portion of the additional income going to hospitals and to building or maintaining community infrastructure.
Responsible Gambling and the OLG
The new gaming site has the Responsible Gambling (RG) tools embedded in its software. The RG programme has received international recognition in the past.
The OLG Executive Director of Social Responsibility, Paul Pellizzari, commented: PlayOLG's RG safeguards are comparable to putting seatbelts and airbags in vehicles. The RG features focus on prevention and mitigation and include player education on healthy playing habits and how to seek help and support for problem gamblers.
The measures that have been put in place include age and identity verifications, weekly deposit limits, casino loss limits, time limits, a cooling off period before increasing limits, self-exclusion, available player account history, and tips to safeguard children from accessing the website.
