The latest lottery win by an Edmonton player highlights the amazing winning spree by Albertans this year.

Over $135 million has been paid out in lottery winnings to residents of the Canadian province, and the recent winner - who has still not come forward to claim his or her prize - added $30.8 million to the tally.

Summer Winning Spree for Albertans

During the summer months alone, over $95 million was claimed by Albertans, according to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.

"It was an amazing summer," noted Andrea Marantz, a spokesperson for WCLC. "We've seen winners from cities and towns all across the province. It really shows that the luck of the draw can happen anywhere and at any time."

The summer ended with a $12 million win, and 12 x $1 million jackpots were paid out between June and September.

2014 started off with $50 million payout to Andrea and Brill Groner of Edmonton who purchased a ticket in the last days of the previous year.

Other big wins this year include the Kelly family of Lacombe County who won $18.4 million in June and the Cressmans of Calgary who won $7 million in July.

Waiting for $30.8m Lotto Winner

In the meantime, the WCLC is waiting for the winner of the $30.8 million Lotto Max jackpot to come forward and claim their prize.

The win is the largest in Alberta lottery history and everyone is excited to hear from the Edmonton player.

The winning numbers in the draw were 5, 13, 18, 28, 31, 38 and 44, with bonus number 46 clinching the deal. The winning ticket matched all seven numbers.

A winning ticket for the $250K Extra prize was also bought in Edmonton.
