The gaming industry's biggest annual gather, G2E Vegas was recently held. During the time of this gathering of members of both the online and land-based gaming sectors, the 2014 Global Gaming Awards were held. This was the first year that the Global Gaming Awards have been held. What better location than Vegas to host a new gaming award ceremony that recognises the achievements of those who have contributed the most to the worldwide gaming industry over the past year.

The Digital Gaming Innovation Award

At the inaugural Global Gaming Awards, the Digital Gaming Innovation Award went to Net Entertainment. Net Entertainment is clearly an innovative gaming software company, and has now been recognised with this award. The company is known to push the boundaries that have been set by themselves and others, and ultimately offer their players a more innovative product. The runner up for this award was Williams Interactive. Net Entertainment was also the runner up for a different award, the Digital Product of the Year award.

Global Gaming Awards

There are 12 different categories of gaming awards that are seen at the Global Gaming Awards. A panel of 50 independent judges vote for those that will be the winners. The judges panel is made up of those who are industry leaders in their fields, and not necessarily from the gaming world.

The 12 award categories at the 2014 Global Gaming Awards were the Land-Based Operator of the Year, the Digital Operator of the Year, the Casino Product of the Year, the Digital Product of the Year, the Digital Acquisition Program of the Year, the Customer Loyalty Program of the Year, the Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year, the Digital Industry Supplier of the Year, the Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the Year, the Executive of the Year, and the Digital Gaming Innovation of the Year award.
