In order to ensure that Internet casinos and other gaming sites are held to the highest standards, there are various accreditation programmes that are available. Responsible gambling accreditation from RGC (Responsible Gaming Council) will deliver its programme in Canada.

The Responsible Gaming Council is launching the RG Check - Internet programme that gives international accreditation. Those who seek this accreditation will have their gambling safeguards assessed, and will need to comply to various stringent standards. The RG Check - Internet product is a new product that follows on from the RG Check - Venue programme. The RG Check - Venue programme has already given accreditation to 60 gambling venues since it was launched in 2011.

Responsible Gambling Accreditation in Canada

In Canada, the RG Check - Internet programme will be administered by the well-known and trusted PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC Canada). This accreditation therefore includes those firms that are members of the PwC network. Should any issues come up, the final decision will be taken by the RGC.

The process of earning the RG Check - Internet accreditation takes some time. The initial process takes a full six months to complete and there are also annual reviews that take place. At the end of the initial six month review period, an independent panel of experts makes an assessment. Those who comply with all the conditions will receive the accreditation. Those companies that seek accreditation do so on a voluntary basis, and all information is kept confidential.
